Guest Post | Taslima’s Take on the A/W 2014 Makeup Trends

Hey lovelies! Today I have the privilege of sharing a post written by the wonderful Taslima from The Little Things in life and I highly recommend you head over to her blog; it's brilliant! So, without further ado, here's Taslima's post:

Hey there everyone! I’m Taslima over at the little things in life.  I was given the opportunity by the lovely Jessica to share a post with her lovely readers! I thought I’d do something along the same lines as what Jessica wrote for me. So today I will be sharing my take on the autumn winter 2014 makeup trends and showing you how I’ve adapted it to suit me! Here’s a picture of how the look turned out! Unfortunately my camera isn’t the best quality so it hasn’t picked up the makeup very nicely!

The nude complexion
Unfortunately I can’t go without something on the cheeks so I popped on a tiny bit of the NYC sunny bronzer, which I’ve been loving to bronze up! Under that I’ve used the Illamasqua hydra veil primer just to smooth my skin out as the weather is making my skin a bit on the rough side! To cover up blemishes I used the NARS radiant creamy concealer and for foundation I’ve fallen back in love with the bareminerals mineral foundation.

Metallic Eyes
I’ve only recently started to get into using eye shadow. The Rimmel scandaleyes eye shadow paints are amazing for that really metallic look to the lids and they stay put all day! At the bargain price you can’t go wrong! If you’re afraid of metallic eyes I’d just pat the colour on and blend it out. That way it doesn’t look as in your face! In this look I used the colour rich russet, which is a gorgeous wearable bronze.

Bold Lashes
I love bold lashes but my lashes seem to be the most annoying thing EVER. In this look I’ve used the L’Oreal Miss Manga mascara. I like it but it’s not amazing. If anyone could recommend me a nice volumising/curling mascara it would be highly appreciated!

Winged liner
I suck at doing a wing but this one actually turned out pretty good! I love the winged liner look. I find the easiest way to do a wing is with either a gel or pencil liner. I grabbed an eyeliner brush and the smashbox gel liner, which gave me a really nice wing!

Berry lips
If you know me you’ll know I’m all for berry/dark coloured lips but this time I thought I’d go for something different. I tried out the 90’s darker nude lip trend that’s flying around. On my tan skin tone I find that the usual colours everyone talks about isn’t that brown toned for me. I’ve found a 90’s darker nude for us tan to dark skin tones! The Illamasqua lipstick in buff! It might not be to everyone’s taste but it’s nice. In the image it isn’t actually showing as true to colour. So if you’re afraid of the berry lips why not try the 90’s lip trend? If you do want to try a berry lip I’d recommend MAC’s Rebel, as it’s not crazy dark! If you just dab it on to look like a stain it looks really pretty!
