January Lust List

Despite how expensive Christmas was, and just the holiday season in general, I'm still feeling rather spendy. You can never get enough fashion or beauty products, but what's more, there are so many other things out there that fashion and beauty lovers also can't resist. As part of my new years resolutions I vowed to read more, so why not start the year off with a spot of light reading in the form of two books that caught my eye (and everyone else's eye) last year? Typically my fashion and beauty picks are new to this blog and rather exciting, so I can't wait for the day I finally get to try them. Don't forget to comment below if you or someone you know has already tried any of these items, I'd love to hear your feedback on them!

How to be Parisian: Wherever You Are
I'm currently part way through Alexa Chung's beautiful, best selling book 'It' and I think I've established a love for fashion and style based books. Quite fittingly, this amazing best-seller 'How to be a Parisian' is the epitome of my passions for fashion, french culture and France in general. If you're a regular here then you'll know that I love, love, love France and plan to move to Paris and become a Parisian, so why not start my journey with this book? Thanks to authors Anne Berest, Audrey Diwan, Caroline de Maigret and Sophie Mas, now we can get an in depth guide to the myths, the witticisms and the 'savoir faire' of a chic French woman's lifestyle.

Naked 2 by Urban Decay
The second of a three part palette series by Urban Decay, Naked 2 is said to be the best of the 3. Having seen Naked 3 up close and had the chance to sample it, the colours just weren't for me. Why? Well, they just seemed really pink and weren't the kind of shades that I would describe to be 'naked' on my skin. But, Naked 2 has the best of the original and a touch of Naked 3; a preferred combination for me and many others, what are your thoughts? All I can say is, thank you Urban Decay!

Nike Roche Run Trainers in Black Anth Sail
I adore Nikes latest addition of all purpose trainers and need to get my hands on a pair, preferably in what Nike describe as Black Anth Sail. What I love is the fact that Nike were inspired by simplicity and 'zen' but also wearablilty (I may have just made that word up, but you know I mean). They're great for a light jog, yet chic enough to wear daily with some jeans and a t-shirt. Naturally, I'm a fan of shoes you can wear for multiple occasions and events because you never know where life will take you next.

Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes
For any beauty blogger/lover 'Pretty Honest' is the new beauty bible (sorry Bobbi), and even Caroline Hirons has given it a shoutout on her blog. She believes Sali Hughes is pretty much spot on with her descriptions, recommendations and honesty which is at the very heart of this book. Rather than beating around the bush and pandering to the much loved brands, Sali, much like Caroline, is straight-talking, funny and most importantly so helpful. This is said to be a must have for anyone with skin, so I don't know why I don't have it yet!

Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner
I was on the look out for a new exfoliating toner as I'm just about to use the last drops of my La Roche Posay Micro-Exfoliant, which although it's been great, I feel it's not as good as it could be. With a whole host of choices out there, I came across Clarins' gentle rendition of an exfoliating toner that actually works. I feel like Caroline Hirons is featuring in all my beauty posts, but fortunately Caroline gave this one a thumbs up. The sole purpose of a product like this is to clean out your open pores just after a cleanse, and knowing Clarins, they are often very good at that. Do let me know if you've tried it already, I'd love to hear some of your thoughts.

Ren Centifolia No. 1 Purity Cleansing Balm
I've just about fallen in love with cleansing balms, and I've now realised with regret that I've been missing out on such a fantastic thing. To continue my new obsession, I couldn't help but desire Ren's Centifolia balm (cute name huh?) which is just the right amount of calm and gentle as it is effective and nourishing. What makes this balm a little but more special, is the inclusion of Rose oil and a lot of other juicy natural ingredients.

Burberry Double Faced Cashmere Wrap
I think deep down everyone has a secret fetish for Burberry, and although I only realised this recently, I've always desired the classic Burberry Wrap that the likes of Cara Delevingne and Sarah Jessica Parker (still Carrie to me) have been seen with, also adorned with their initials no less. This item is perfect for winter and is a chic, easy going addition to any outfit. The reason I love this piece so much is because it's so gorgeous, there's no other way to describe, it's not everyday a designer brand make a gorgeous, comfortable, cosy piece that you'll actually really enjoy wearing. I am inspired by Burberry and this item despite the price tag is my new favourite thing.

Clarins Face Treatment Oil
Having tried the Body Shop's Vitamin E Serum-in-Oil (see last post), I've actually really taken to the concept of a nourishing, enriching facial oil. I never thought oil serums were for me, and now I can't get enough of them. It just goes to show that you can't rule anything out unless you've already tried it. Although I hate quoting her (because then I can never stop) Amelia Liana swears this serum is 'good skin in a bottle' (god I watch far too much youtube), so why not give in and see what all the ranting and raving is about?

On a quick side note, for any of my lovely readers who have oily skin and don't think an oil serum is for you then I've got news for you. They work, and they don't make your skin oiler. Hurray! Obviously, I can't just say that and present no evidence, so yes I am referring to the skincare guru herself, Caroline Hirons (again, I know), who says that depriving oily skin of oil is only going to make it produce more oil; it makes sense really. So I'd recommend actually staying away from products that say oil free for oily/combination skin and start experiencing the benefits of oil serums.

So there you have it, the first but definitely not the last Lust List of 2015. As usual, I'm being very greedy, but in all honesty, these are the products I really desire right now, Burberry and all. So let me know what you think of my choices, and don't forget to share your desired items too.
